IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Thunder Bay, ON (July 17, 2017) – The Thunder Bay & District Humane Society and the Ontario SPCA are urging members of the public to come forward with information about two cats that were found dead on Limbrick Street in the Northwood area.
On July 10, 2017, Ontario SPCA agents with the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society responded to a call about two cats found dead near a residential complex. The bodies of a grey and white domestic short-haired cat and a black and white domestic short-haired cat were found at the same location, one inside a black garbage bag and the other in a yellow plastic shopping bag.
The cats did not have a tag or microchip. A necropsy revealed both cats died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.
“If you have any knowledge regarding the death of these cats or who owned them, please come forward with that information,” says Lynn Michaud, Senior Inspector, Ontario SPCA. “Foul play is suspected in the deaths of these cats and we would like the person responsible for the horrible death of these cats held accountable.”
Call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or 310-SPCA (7722) with any information that could assist in this investigation. If you see an animal in distress, call 310-SPCA immediately.
